2023 RMA Leadership Training Essentials

ranger essentials (english) | 8 am to 5 pm

Ranger Essentials is a one-day fun, interactive-style training event. You will learn how to connect with today’s boys, along with recognizing ministry needs and outreach opportunities. You will discover how to give life-changing devotions and how to mentor boys and young men into spiritual leaders.

camp planning and preparation | 9 am to 1 pm

This course is for novice campers. This course will assist you to prepare your Outpost to participate at our District camp-outs. Understanding the basic principles in camping equipment, patrol system, cooking, meal planning, safety and sanitation. 

  1. First Hour – Camp Planning:  Purpose of Camping, Outpost Camping Equipment, Kitchen Equipment, Boys Checklist, Attendee Information Form, Outpost Registration Form, Parent Involvement, Transportation, Containers, Storage, Fundraising and Timeline.
  2. Second Hour – Camp Layout, Safety, and Sanitation:
    – Archway, Displaying Signage, Campsite Evaluation Checklist
    – First-Aid and CPR Certification, Outpost First-Aid Box
    – Guideline for Food Storage, Camp Safety, Kitchen Safety, Food Handling Rules
    – Leaders and Boys Patrol System Duty Roster

  3. Third Hour – Meal Planning, Prepping, and Cooking:
    – Menu
    – Items and Equipment Checklist
    – Camp Meals for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks

Discovery and Adventure Rangers | 1-4 pm

This course is for beginners and experienced leaders in teaching the Ranger Kids, Discovery Rangers, Adventure Rangers, and Expedition Rangers age groups  . This course will take you to the next level of understanding, practice, and following the age group curriculum. Each age group is taught in separate classroom setting to focus on each individual age group need.

  1. First Hour – Model Outpost Meeting:  Leaders will be taking the class as if you where the student for the age group level.
  2. Second Hour – Implementing the Model Outpost Meeting:  Following the Meeting Plan for the respective age group and Overview of the Curriculum including Bible Studies, Program Feature, Recreation, Devotions, Uniforms, and Patrol System.
  3. Third Hour – Understanding and Implementing the Advancement System: Quarterly and Annual Awards, TracClub, Tracking Advancements on the handbook, Bible Merits, Skill Merits, and Leadership Merits.
  4. Planning Calendar & Lessons: Activities (Indoor and Outdoor), Resources, Council of Achievement Award Ceremony, Parent Involvement, Outreach, Fundraising, Application Process, Attendance Management, and My Healthy Church Navigation.
ROYAL RANGERS VOLUNTEERS | 9:30 AM TO 12 PM

This course is for Royal Ranger Parents, Church Family, Pastors, and/or Royal Rangers Alumni. Volunteers will be working hands-on with and without your outpost team. Creating a team of volunteers to empower the local Outpost to be successful.

  1. First Hour | Parent Involvement
    – What are the needs?
    – How can I help?
  2. Second Hour | Outpost Committee
    – Building a team of volunteers with job description to alleviate the Outpost Leaders.
    – Council of Achievement
    – Fundraising
    – SPDRR Calendar

  3. Third Hour | Community Outreach
    – Advertising and Marketing

FCF Open session/fellowship

9 am to 2 pm | FCF Members will be available to assist you in completing any of your FCF items. Sewing, Leatherwork, Shirts, Pants, Necklaces, and more. Bring your own materials. Items will be available for purchase if needed. SPDRR will supply the tools. Includes Lunch.
